What are the principles required according to you to be a good animator ?
some important points in my view:
1. a good understanding of the 12 principles of animation
2. ability to identify ideas in everyday situations/happenings
3. ability to break down any movement you see into a sequence of actions.
4. ability to think graphically
5. ability to keep the ideas simple, clear and readable
6. just not memorizing/recording and generalizing how something moves from A to B but a keen observation of what is it that made it move.
7. openness in receiving feedback at any stage and from any one
8. ability to stay playful despite all the hurdles
9. ability to stay truthful to your shot without overdoing
10. LOADS and LOADS of patience!!
